Dimples Day Care practices a unique learning theory called The Curiosity Approach. The ethos is about using a child's natural curiosity to go back to basics with the use of wooden resources, ordinary household items and bric-a-brac. It is all based on the children's imaginations, so they make items into whatever they want them to be. Nobody is telling them what the toys are or how to play with them. Plastic formed toys are being replaced with natural objects and loose parts to facilitate play that is more creative and curious, imaginative and inviting.
“I founded Dimples Day Care in 2018 after my own children went through early years care and education. I felt there was a real need for an early years setting that combined the structure and learning of a nursery with the family feel of a childminder. I am fortunate to work with a team of nursery nurses who retain the highest standards in care, teaching and learning. Each child has a personalised learning plan and their achievements are shared with families throughout the day. Regular tracking and reporting combined with home based learning resources provides families with a comprehensive early years care package where their child flourishes in a happy and positive environment.” Alexandra
We observe and listen carefully to each and every child and are flexible to respond as they grow and develop. We aim for the children to lead their own play by inviting investigation and encouraging curiosity, self-selection and independence. Our home-from-home settings have areas for activity as well as cosy areas for quiet time.
